STYLING: MONOCHROME

WHITES: Mossman dress; Wittner wedges; ASOS sunnies and backpack
BLACKS: Mossman vest; Stylestalker bra; Witter heels

Model: Holly Schneider
Styling: Nicole Tj
Makeup: Vesna Obradovic
Hair: Christina Charalambous
Assistant: Yasitha Amarasinghe
Photographer: Mim Kempson

The last shoot I styled, I went all out mixing gorgeous bright prints and bold colour, layering statement necklaces in Gaga-inspired fashion that was screaming out for bright yellow and orange eyeshadow to bring it all together. This time I decided to pare it right down, lest you guys out there start to think of me as a crazy print monster, to good ol' black and white - which was actually a bit of a challenge and I had to seriously re-assess the way I was putting the pieces in my head together!

The first things that came into mind were the Wittner sport luxe designs, those ones in particular, that I had seen early last month at the MSFW Runway. A little scout on the Mossman website found this adorable white/cream textured dress - the perfect tennis whites, I thought, and the collared vest (which here has been zipped up along the back). Then I found this amazing mesh Stylestalker bra and dug up these harem pants that have been patiently sitting in my wardrobe, waiting to be worn again. I love playing with contrasts within a concept, hence - feminine tennis-inspired vs. tough boxing-chic!

Thank you Mossman and Wittner for being part of this, and to the incredible team that made it all possible.

SPORTY MEETS FLORALS

Portmans top; Topshop pants; ASOS shoes; MK watch

I'm not even quite sure how it happened so quickly but my uni semester has come to an end and I'm now only one research assignment and two more recitals away from officially finishing the four years of undergrad degree - four!!

Amidst the hectic flurry that is a muso's life we took some time out to venture into the gardens and had a little play with the afternoon sun. I got these floral wonders a few weeks back at the Topshop x Grazia spring event and they have actually been surprisingly versatile! With such a wealth of printed leggings and pants around these days it was getting a little repetitive for me and I was starting to move away from floral pants for a bit - these ones however drew me in with hints of purple and orange and I love the side panel that breaks it up a little with a touch of sport luxe.

This top I've had for a while but definitely don't wear enough of, trusty nude lace-ups and shades of rose-gold in the watch I thought came together with the floral pants in a sweet, casual way. Am going to try dressing it up soon and can't wait to share with you - how would you wear it?

SPENCERLACY SS 12/13 'CALYPSO'

I attended Spencerlacy's Calypso Spring/Summer launch last week and was treated not only to vibrant prints, gorgeous silk pants and laser cut tops that promise to keep you cool on hot days, but also a sneak peek at their AW collection to follow! You should also know that I have a weak spot for compact little morsels that look as fantastic as they taste - those cocktail prawns with mango salsa on a crouton base should be on every cocktail party menu, pronto.

Greenery and geometrics

Sportsgirl knit, Motel Rocks shorts c/o The Flying Standard, ASOS bag, Minkpink sunnies, Laduree macaron bag ;)

Here's another little snippet from Sydney a good number of weeks ago now - time flies, I tell ya! Laduree had just opened their doors and while I am nowhere close to being a macaron fanatic, I was curious to see what all the hype was about. Unfortunately they didn't have any of the more interesting flavours I wanted (salted caramel, violet something or other..) so I settled for the classics and a very pretty box and bag, which coincidentally complemented my outfit perfectly with a refreshing shade of green.

Speaking of green (which unconsciously seemed to be my favourite colour for a week or two), I picked up these super duper comfy floral/leafy printed Motel Rocks shorts and instantly paired it with this equally comfy slouchy knit (comfort is clearly my thing) for a Sydney day that was mostly sunny with a bit of a wind chill. We ended our trip with a visit to the Museum of Contemporary Art, where we found this geometrically-interesting wall in strikingly bright orange. Photo diary soon, promise x

BTS: Get Sporty

Sneak peek behind the scenes to shoot #2 that I styled, in collaboration with Mim. (In case you missed it, check out our Gaga-inspired shoot #1 here!) A great deal of admiration for our boxer-ballerina-tennis model Holly, who did a stunning job braving the ridiculous wind chill while the rest of us, who were fully clothed in about 4 layers, mind you, tried our bestest not to turn into ice.

Shot at Ormond Hill with a beautiful view of the coastline stretching towards the CBD. Huge thanks to Mossman and Wittner for your monochrome loans :)

Photos via my iPhone, because while I was thorough enough to bring everything including 3 pairs of sunnies (options are good) and extra sockettes, I forgot to bring my camera. Quite impressed by the photo quality, though.

Can't wait to share the finished images and I promise, you'll be the first to see them, right here x

MATCHY MATCHY

Dress Gallery Silk Top and Shorts via Asos / Asos Paisley Crop and Beach Pants

Not that I've worn matching pj sets since I was about 10 but I imagine these would be the slightly more grown-up versions worthy of being flaunted outside the comfort of your home. I suppose there's the risk of looking too much like a kid heading for a play date but seriously, look at the generous slits of those beach pants! Aussie fave Shakuhachi does silky florals too but keeps the colour play in check for an edgier result. An extra click got me peeking at their Cruise collection and I truly have no words for the spectacular display of adorable daisy prints, white crochet, psychedelic rainbows and black leather thrown in there. And, Three of Something - a chance discovery I'm glad to have made and new label I'm definitely watching out for!

Just like your pjs, only better. Would you rock a matching set?

Topshop x Grazia: Step into Spring!

Topshop x Grazia presented 'Step Into Spring' at the Chapel St store last night, hosting an enjoyable evening of shopping alongside cocktails and canapes. We were also treated to a Spring Racing style session showcasing Topshop's latest arrivals - a range of peplums, clashing prints and textured offerings.

Guests were greeted at the store entrance with a overflowing selection of beautiful floral crowns by the lovely and talented Connie and her K is for Kani etsy pop-up store! I was more than happy to take a little wander around the store for a bout of shopping (seeing as the last time I visited Topshop was a few months ago in London), fell in love with an embellished top and floral pants, and redeemed myself a pretty crown too which I can't wait to sport all spring and summer long :)
